My name is Sascha and I'm just starting off a new call centre, and local only business. The call centre will be (please don't frown on me) cold calling consumer customers, and the local business will be dealing business-to-business.

My history:

2006: Worked for a call centre in Swansea and got my first real taste of mobile phones, selling Orange and Three.
2006: Left there to work at PC World in both Sales and Repairs
2008: Went to work at an O2 retail store where I worked for 4 months and became a Business Specialist before being let go of due to another store near ours closing
2008: Went to work for an O2 franchise as a Business Specialist, got promoted to Senior Sales Advisor, then Team Leader in 2009, and September 2009 was given my own store
2009: Fell out with the franchisee in December and left
2010: In January started working in Vodafone as a Specialist Account Manager
2010: In March, moved to a 3 retail store as Assistant Manager (hated customer service in Vodafone)
2010: End of April, left 3 due to problems with old O2 franchisee (the 3 store was opposite the O2 store)
2010: Mid June, opened my business/call centre for trading as Fone Venture Limited

My major strength is obviously working with O2, and as I managed a store in Franchise, I completely understand how O2 run their dealership programme, sales website, comission structure...etc and know the in's and out's of O2 in general. I've learnt a lot about 3, but I still have a lot to learn about trading as a dealer, and the other networks.

I guess the main reason I'm here is to learn more about being a dealer, and running a business in general, but I'd like to share my expertise and knowledge as well, and share anything I learn outside of the forums. The only thing I'd really like to say is, unlike most call centre owners in my area I'm not planning on comitting any fraud, and I don't have the intention of running a dodgy business. I absolutely cannot stand those types of people, and they deserve to be jailed for a couple of years, and banned from ever running a business again. It gives the industry a terrible name and impression.

If so WHY DON'T THEY HAVE A SELL BY DATE ON THEM?

SO THAT WE ARE NOT MADE TO LOOK SILLY WHEN A CUSTOMER RETURNS THEM SAYING THESE ARE OUT OF DATE.

Historically ive connected most of my business on 3 (dont ask why!) but more recently, i have made a decision to prioritise connections on Orange due to revenue share. So far, i have found that there isnt much info available about the customer and their spend - all i see is my commissions paid 1 month in arrears - i did do a spot check with one customer and got him to send his bills to me so that i could check if i was being paid correctly on the rev share and i was surprised to find that i was paid correctly and on time every month.

How is everyone else finding rev share? Is it better than you expected?

How much rev share are you averaging per month in relation to connection volume?

It would be interesting to see how everyone is adjusting to this.

Personally, i believe its a very good idea.
